Clouds and the
Blessed Hope
Jesus is coming, and with
clouds and glory to earth once more and this time it will not be to be
spit upon, slapped, beaten, ridiculed or betrayed, but to exercise
judgment and dominion over all the earth. He will establish his kingdom
here on earth and bring peace on earth and an end to evil and satans
rule over the land. He will gather together all who trust in Him the
living and the dead and they shall be taken to meet the Lord in the
clouds on that day of his coming and will be forever with Jesus. The
main fact is He is Coming with clouds again to this earth and He is
coming to rule and to gather together all that belongs to Him. We
are to comfort each other with this hope of his return and gathering
together of His Saints. Though we may be separated by death from
our loved ones and friends we are not to be like those who have no hope
beyond the grave, we have a blessed hope that goes beyond this realm of
existence.
His Glory and
Power:
(Psa 97:1-5 KJV) The LORD
reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad
thereof.(2) Clouds and darkness are round about
him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.(3)
A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.(4) His
lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.(5) The
hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of
the Lord of the whole earth.(6) The heavens declare his righteousness,
and all the people see his glory.
The Blessed
hope of His Return:
(Acts 1:9-11 KJV) And when he
had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up;
and a cloud received him out of their sight. (10) And while they
looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by
them in white apparel; (11) Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why
stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from
you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as
ye have seen him go into heaven.
(Mat 26:63-64 KJV) But Jesus
held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure
thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ,
the Son of God. (64) Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless
I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of
man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of
heaven.
(Dan 7:13-14 KJV) I saw
in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the
clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they
brought him near before him.(14) And there was given him dominion, and
glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should
serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass
away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Coming in
Clouds and Gathering the Elect the Blessed Hope:
(Mat 24:30-31 KJV) And then
shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all
the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see
the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory. (31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other.
(1 Th 4:13-18 KJV) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren,
concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others
which have no hope. (14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
(15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are
alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them
which are asleep. (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of
God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then
we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with
the Lord. (18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
