False Signs and Wonders

It seems that in these last days Jesus has warned us that there would come those who will have the power to do signs and wonders in front of many people to prove them.

I am of the opinion that what is done today in the name of revival meetings has a distinct ring of falseness in them. They are proclaimed as the truth in these new revivals of signs and wonders. In these meetings there is a false doctrine being taught there is very little bible and more on getting the audience to experience some supernatural occurrence. The leader will be more involved in getting everyone emotionaly charged to recieve the false experience. Once a person has been through one of these experiences it becomes very difficult if not impossible to convince them otherwise if it truly is false. The experience then becomes the focus of their belief and not the truth so they seek more of the experiences and not the Lord and become blind to the things of the Spirit.

A person who is not deceived will be a person who’s focus is on the bible, his eyes on Jesus, loves the truth or what is written in the bible. The Word of God judges the experience and not the experience judging the bible or Christ. The same goes for prophecy or "personal prophecy". There have been many people who have been taken in by some preacher or powerful evangelist who gave a word over them and caused the person to change his life or actions and caused great harm to the person, his family and friends because what they were told was false. We need to be discerning the truth so we will not be caught with our hearts being deceived.

In the verse below it says that the sign or wonder comes to pass that they have some kind of supernatural power, but what they teach is false doctrine, we are not to follow them. There are quite a number of men who teach a doctrine that sounds to the ear good. Now if you look into what they are saying and what has been taught in books they have written you can see right away they are not of the Spirit of Christ but of Satan. They are performing these things in unrighteousness and will be judged by God. Some even though they teach truth, when looking at the practices they do to collect money by using gimmicks and tricks to fleece Gods people they have condemned themselves as being greedy for money and they really don’t care about the things of God or the people they are ministering too.

If you read these verses of the bible you will see that we must be vigilant to know the truth and the truth will set us free from such men and deceivers. We must be lovers of the "Truth" and be able to accept the truth when we are wrong or if we have been deceived by some smooth talking and performing man. We must be able to be corrected by the bible and not reject the truth no matter how much it may hurt at the start in the end you will be set free.  God is testing you to see if you love him truly, the elect of God if it were possible could be deceived if they received not the love of the truth.

(Duet. 13:1KJV) If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
(Duet. 13:2 KJV) And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
(Duet. 13:3 KJV)  Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

(Mat 24:24 KJV) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

(2 Th 2:9 KJV) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
(2 Th 2:10 KJV) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
(2 Th 2:11 KJV) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
(2 Th 2:12 KJV) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(2 Th 2:13 KJV) But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
(2 Th 2:14 KJV) Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(2 Th 2:15 KJV) Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
(2 Th 2:16 KJV) Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
(2 Th 2:17 KJV) Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
