Tell me about the good ole days,
The days when my youth seemed so endless and time seemed so far away,
Play was only a bike a sandwich and a sunny day,
Days when sunshine was a beckoning to go fishin and swimmin in the stream,
Where we didn’t worry about hate crimes drugs and gangs,
Days when children didn’t make choices of life and death,
Days when friends were friends and not gangs,
How I long for yesterday,
Though I would not change what I have today,
I can live like it was yesterday,
Cause I can love and play and teach my children to bow their heads n pray,
I can say to them that God is here to stay and so is your mom and dad,
We made a vow to love and make it like the good ole days,
When moms and dads never went away,
We will live and love and play and promise that will stay,
Like it was in the good ole days,
We will bow our heads to pray cause these are the good ole days.
Tell me about the good ole days,
Days that you were young and full of life,
Days when your lover was your wife,
And she was the apple of your eye,
Tell me about the good ole days,
Days you were longing for the one,
Who would be the man that you dreamed of,
Days when your promise was something you kept,
Those are the good ole days.
Promises today don’t seem to mean a thing,
Love and lives are changed like old worn tire,
Casting love lives into the fire,
Those aren’t the good ole days,
So lets build a life like the good ole days,
Mend the broken hearts put together the broken memories,
Bring peace to the family that’s hurting from the pressures of this world,
From the unforgiveness and hopes that have been dashed by promises not kept,
Let the light of Gods love shine on your hearts to mend your spirit soul and mind,
Its upon His shoulders we can build lives complete with love and trust for life,
Its upon His promises that He gave us strength,
Its upon His promises that He forgives us and gives us life,
Its upon this love that we can build bridges to lives that have been separated,
Families that have been broke can be mended if only love can shine in and not darkness,
This is only possible if we can realize that it has to begin with you.
