Well over two hundred years ago while our nation was still a British colony, the noted English historian, Alexander Fraser Tyler, wrote about the fall of the Athenian Republic in these words:

A Democracy cannot exist as a permanent from of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the results that a Democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependence; from dependency back again into bondage.

The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States has been stretched to protect news media, foul language, and every sin known to man. However, it was written to prevent the nation from adopting any particular Christian religion as the State religion. It was written to keep the State from interfering with the Christian religion. It was not written to keep the Christian out of politics. Let the politician keep his grasping hand off the Christian day school, care centers, and any other effort to benefit the lot of the human race. That also applies to Christian radio stations and Christian broadcasts. In the meantime we shall continue to do the thing we do best: Teach the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation!
