So many things have transpired in the last few days and months and
years, but God
is still God and he still loves us.
Many things have gone on this year and we are fast approaching another
year. As this one wraps up with some very unsettling happenings as we
already know about. I think of what Jesus said in Matthew that wars and
rumors of wars, distress of nations, and a list of other things would
come upon this world but the end is not yet. God still has a plan and
it's being set forth day by day and that plan is the redemption of the
world and its inhabitants. What some view as calamities, which they are,
God is using as a way to wake up the people of this nation. Not that God
did these things but evil men did. To bring into our view the need of a
greater truth and strength than that of our own might and strength.
Though we are the most technically and militarily advanced nation, we
are not strong when our people have forsaken the God of our fathers and
followed the gods of riches and power, lust of the flesh and the pride
of life.
We must look into our hearts and be honest to ourselves and God as he
already knows what’s in our hearts and ask him to take away those things
that hinder and plague our walk with him day by day and year after year.
There is an utter lack in some lives, the ability to trust in Jesus and
his word as our bread and as our life. We have this innate desire to
fulfill those needs with the trappings of the world with its lusts and
self-motivated desires. We fail to seek first His kingdom instead we
seek the arm of flesh to take care of our needs, we march off to duty
with unity but not faith. We sing our songs in worship but do not pray
to Him or take the time to pour our hearts out to Him. Instead we cover
our pain with amusements and try to bury our fears with drugs or
alcohol.
Its time to awake out of slumber and as the virgins that kept extra oil
with their lamps not as the others that did not. They all fell asleep
but the wise ones were ready when the time came to go. The foolish had
to go back and find the oil, which was needed to go on, but were left
behind. They did not make it in because they were not being prepared to
go. They knew the time was at hand but failed to prepare fully.
Lets make the latter part of our life here, a time to get ready for what
is ahead and take the time to spend it with the Lord and getting our
hearts prepared. Too till up the hardened ground with the plow of
repentance and water the soil to soften it with the word of God so it
will grow and become fruitful when the time of refreshing comes to you
souls from the Lord. God is faithful as he said he who began a good work
in you is faithful to complete it.
This is just the beginning of the last days, we have not even begun to
enter into anything of that great and dreadful day yet but it will come
as his plan unfolds. What we must do is be ready always no matter what
comes so that when our day comes to go we will be ready and be rejoicing
in that day.
God Bless and I hope this Thanksgiving season will be a time to truly
give thanks to Christ for giving us the blessings that we have enjoyed
in our homes and lives.
