Every life has a beginning a spring, then a summer, a fall and then a winter if we are fortunate to live long enough. Its when we don’t see the years go by we fall victim to the traffic of making a buck or a name we miss on the most important things in our life. We have children we don’t even know because no time is spent getting to know that infant or toddler or teenager its not to late to start. Time is of the essence they don’t have much of it either. What about neighbors that live next to you do you invite them over for coffee tea or just to chat. I can remember in my childhood we had a neighborhood and we all knew each other and we took care of one another as best we could sure we had troubles but we grew with it. Today we don’t even know who our neighbors are either they don’t want to indulge in beginning new friendships or fear of who you are is the problem. We cant afford this kind of life style it robs us of the one thing that keeps community together that’s the love between neighbors. No we didn’t pick our neighbors but we still need to show in some way you care and can help in times of need. Today a neighbor can be dying alone and no one will come. Family may be gone and they have no one just the TV and that’s all. What a shame it is on all of us who can let this happen. We build fences around for privacy but in truth its to keep out the others from our lives that might convict us of a lifestyle that is purely for self and not for others it’s a sign of a life out of control from fear. Our society has duped us into believing not to get involved with others don’t get attached keep aloof don’t trust anyone. One of the last days signs is people would not show natural affection to their own, well if that’s the way it is we don’t have to be the ones that its talking about we can risk being hurt some for love and the Lords sake. Reaching out to those who cant and inviting the ones who can to show love to others. It used to be people built porches on the front of their homes and they knew all the neighbors now it’s a backyard deck with a fence around it and they don’t know the ones who live next to them. A tragedy not to know and be involved. It’s just easier not to be involved with neighbors these days because relationships can be so complicated. We are not taught how to have one we let the media tell us how or let the pop psychologist give us advice instead of the years of love and experience from our elder members of our family and friends who been there before. |
